
UPDATE: Virginia Man Killed In Fatal Wrong-Way Crash On Indian Head Highway
INDIAN HEAD, Md. — One person was killed and another injured in a fiery two-vehicle crash Monday evening, Dec. 22, 2025, on Indian Head Highway near Crestwood Place.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene around 5:30 p.m. after reports of a serious motor vehicle collision with possible entrapment. Upon arrival, first responders found two vehicles engulfed in flames, with one occupant trapped inside a vehicle.
Firefighters extinguished the fires and extricated the trapped individual. Life-saving efforts, including CPR, were initiated, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials confirmed.
The occupant of the second vehicle was transported by ground ambulance to UM Capital Region Medical Center with injuries.
Animal control was requested to respond to the crash scene. Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area and expect extended road closures in the area as investigators worked to document the crash and clear debris.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
