ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. — The highly anticipated River Concert Series at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is making its triumphant return!

St. Mary’s College of Maryland, in association with the Chesapeake Orchestra and its Music Director Jeffrey Silberschlag, are thrilled to announce the dates for the 2024 River Concert Series. This family-friendly music festival, a Southern Maryland tradition now in its 26th season, and a two-time recipient of the Governor’s Awards for Arts, Tourism, and Community Economic Development, will take center stage on the St. Mary’s College Townhouse Green.

Admission and parking are free, making this a perfect event for the entire community to enjoy. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from on-site vendors, though attendees are also welcome to bring their own.

The Chesapeake Orchestra will fill the air with music every Friday evening, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., from June 21 through July 19. The lineup includes an exciting mix of classical and jazz favorites:

  • June 21: “Bach and Buds!”
  • June 28: “We Remember the Duke on his 125th Anniversary”
  • July 5: “It’s a John Williams 4th, Plus 1812 & Fireworks” (weather permitting)
  • July 12: “Jazz/Classic Fusion”
  • July 19: “Europe and the Jazz Influence”

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs for comfort. However, please be advised that pets are not permitted at the River Concerts. We love your furry friends, but they will have to enjoy the music from home.
