St. Leonard, MD – On Tuesday, Dec. 8 at approximately 3:15 p.m., a call was made to Calvert County authorities by a passerby regarding items burning on the northbound side of Route 2/4. Volunteers from St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department responded and had the blaze under control within five minutes. Some of the burning items found at the scene included a mattress, chair, trash can, food and empty beer bottles. No injuries were reported. The incident caused a few minor traffic delays.
