Robert J. Hicks was born in Geneva, OH on 6 December 1939. Bob joined the Navy in 1960 and served honorably for 23 years. Bob served in Vietnam and was part of the VXE-6 Ice Pirates supporting activities in Antarctica.
Bob served many years between Lexington Park / Patuxent River VQ-4 and Willow Grove NAS, supporting aircraft maintenance and operations. His final tour before retirement was with the USS Nimitz CVN-68.
Bob married Nancy Moore and had 4 children, Roberta (Robin), Shirley, Johnnie Belinda, and Jennifer. Bob was preceded in death by Nancy his wife, and his eldest daughter Robin.
Bob is survived by Johnnie Belinda (Glendale AZ), Jennifer Countryman (Buckeye AZ), Shirley (Tampa FL), his grand children – Christopher Bimson (Jacksonville FL), Nikita Bimson (Phoenix AZ), Hayley Bimson (Lexington Park MD), Joel Anthony Countryman and Richard Countryman (Buckeye AZ), Steven Spice (Glendale AZ), and Annie and Bobbie (Trenton NJ). He is also survived by 9 great grand children.
Bob was preceded in death by Nancy his wife, and his eldest daughter Robin.
