GREAT MILLS, Md. – St. Mary’s County is making a splash this weekend with the return of its annual Splash Bash Pool Party, set for Sunday, May 25, at the Great Mills Swimming Pool.
The event marks the official kickoff to the outdoor pool season and features open swim, music, and poolside games. No advance registration is required to attend, and regular admission rates apply—$8 for adults and $6 for youth and seniors with county residency. Pool passes are also accepted.
The pool has been closed in recent weeks for the removal of its seasonal dome and routine bi-annual maintenance. It is scheduled to reopen as an outdoor facility on Saturday, May 24, just in time for the celebration.
“Celebrate the start of outdoor pool season with music and games during open swim!” officials from St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks announced in a public notice promoting the event.
The Great Mills Swimming Pool is located at 21100 Great Mills Road. Full admission and membership pass information can be found at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/docs/greatmillspoolrates.pdf.
More pool details and updates are available on the county’s aquatics webpage at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/Recreate/Aquatics.
