LEONARDTOWN, Md. – Following an exciting season and impressive results at state-level championship competitions, St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks (R&P) is proud to announce that multiple gymnasts from the St. Mary’s County Gymnastics Academy (SMGA) USAG team are heading to the Region 7 Xcel Gold and Platinum Regional Championships, to be held May 14–17, 2026, in Edison, New Jersey.

The dedication, practice, and determination of the SMGA USAG team paid off during the 2026 competitive gymnastics season, with all 40 athletes qualifying for and competing at the state level across Levels 2–6, as well as Xcel Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Five Xcel Gold gymnasts and all five Xcel Platinum gymnasts will advance to the regional competition.

Several standout performances at the state championships included but were not limited to: Level 2 gymnast Mylani Brown, Level 3 gymnast Olivia Ewing, Xcel Silver gymnast Annabella Hobbs, Xcel Gold gymnast Reagan Wagner, and Xcel Platinum gymnast Kylee Gahn, among many others.

St. Mary’s County Gymnastics Academy is proud of the achievements of all athletes who competed throughout the season, as well as those advancing to regional championships. This meet will conclude the team’s 2025–2026 competitive season.
