
WALDORF, Md. — A kitten trapped inside a vehicle was safely rescued Monday afternoon by first responders in the Pinefield neighborhood of Waldorf.
Charles County emergency crews were dispatched around 3:00 p.m. on June 16, 2025, to the 10400 block of Ponderosa Pine Avenue for a report of an animal in distress. Upon arrival, members of the Westlake Station 12 Fire & EMS discovered the kitten trapped behind a vehicle’s glove compartment.
Crews carefully disassembled the glove box and successfully extricated the feline. The kitten was transported to the Westlake station, where it was given food and water while awaiting the arrival of animal control.
The incident was marked complete by 3:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
