Make the holiday season special for a child in need with your gift of a new book to benefit the Angel Tree Book Drive. Every year, the United Way of Calvert Countyโ€™s Success By 6 initiative collects over 500 new, unwrapped books for children participating in the Tree of Angels program, in partnership with Calvert Countyโ€™s Department of Social Services. Tree of Angels has a twenty-year history of making the holidays a little brighter for needy children.

The Angel Tree Book Drive is accepting donations from now until Thursday, Dec. 10 at locations throughout Calvert County, including all Calvert Library branches, Calvert County Senior Center in Prince Frederick, The Calverton School, Dunkirk Safeway, St. Paul United Methodist Preschool, Calvert Marine Museum, Department of Juvenile Services, The Main Courthouse Lobby, Mt. Hope Community Center, Prime Time Childrenโ€™s Center and the United Way House.

Success By 6 is committed to promoting the importance of early literacy through programs such as the Angel Tree Book Drive which increase young childrenโ€™s access to books and help them build their home libraries.
