At 3:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 4, TFC J. Linger was conducting a check of the Wildewood Recreation Area, California, when he observed a vehicle parked on the edge of the wood line.
Upon contact with the three occupants an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. A probable cause search was conducted.
Marijuana was found in the pocket of a coat belonging to one passenger, John Jeremiah-Fitzpatrick Hebb, 19, of Lexington Park. A cup that Hebb had been holding also containing marijuana. Hebb was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana.
A further search of the vehicle revealed a short barreled shotgun in the trunk. Passenger, Robert Damian McCarson, 18, of California, stated the shotgun belonged to him. McCarson was placed under arrest for possession of a short barreled shotgun.
Both subjects were taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
