ย During the events, Blue Wind will offer fresh foods for tasting, wines for sampling and the talents of regional artists. The first artist featured on Oct. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. is St. Maryโs own Christina Allen.ย Allen, a local artist and farmer, derives her inspiration from the landscapes and waterways of the region. The artist is graciously donating 50 signed, limited edition prints of “Sotterley’s Grape Arbor” to the event.ย Click on http://home.earthlink.net/~allensarticles/prints1.html to view more of Allenโs art.
ย Blue Wind Gourmet owner, Rob Plant states, โWe are especially grateful to Christina Allen for her participation and generous donation. With local farms now harvesting grapes and with approach of the Riverside WineFest at Sotterley, the gift of prints of the Sotterley grape arbor is very timely.โ
ย The work of the Patuxent Habitat for Humanity improves the lives for all residents within our community. The โWednesday Wine and Artworkโ series celebrates the arts, the farm fresh produce and the quality of life of this area. It is through the strength of these partnerships and collaborations that we can all share in the rewards of living here in Southern Maryland,โ continued Plant.
ย Future artists scheduled include: Beverly Jackson from Oct. 15 to Oct. 21, Jim Kinett from Oct. 22 to

ย Patuxent Habitat for Humanityโs stated mission is to bring people from all walks of life together in order to help their neighbors realize better lives by providing decent, affordable housing in both Calvert and St. Maryโs Counties. Patuxent Habitat for Humanity has built nine homes since 2003 for families who would not otherwise realize the dream of homeownership. The organization partners with local volunteers and businesses to build homes which are then purchased by the families using no-interest loans.
