Waldorf, MD – Charles County Youth Orchestra (CCYO) is a high school level symphonic orchestra, comprised of some of the best strings, winds, brass and percussionists in Charles County.
The Charles County Youth Orchestra, Encore Strings and Encore Band Winter Concert is this Sunday, January 17th, at 4:00 p.m., Westlake High School, 3300 Middletown Road, Waldorf. Admission is free!
They will be performing music from Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, and Star Wars.
Encore Strings will perform Russian Sailor’s Dance by Gliere, Adagio Cantabile from Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata, Blue Fire Fiddler by Soon Hee Newbold and Mission Impossible.
Encore Band will perform Colliding Visions by Brian Balmages and Glorioso by Robert W. Smith, as well as a few other selections.
Mid-year auditions for all ensembles will be January 30th, by appointment only. They are especially looking for flute, oboe, bassoon, trumpet and French Horn for CCYO.
