Boat and dock fire in Lusby

Lusby, MD – A late afternoon boat and dock fire Wednesday, July 26 brought emergency responders by land and water to Tongue Cove in Lusby. The smoke could be seen across the Patuxent River in St. Mary’s County. Firefighters from Calvert and St. Mary’s counties were dispatched. 

According to Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department (Company 3) public information officer Norman Rae, “upon arrival on location of the home it was found that a 41 foot boat was fully evolved. Quickly Engine 33’s crew pulled a 400 foot attack line and began an aggressive attack on the fire. Shortly after Boat 3 arrived and assisted with the rest of the extinguishment of the boat.”

At this time there is no report of any injuries as a result of the fire.

Lusby, MD 3:45 p.m.- A boat and dock are reportedly on fire on Tongue Cove Drive in Lusby, MD. Multiple units are en route.
