On Sept. 6, detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office received notification of a suspected child sexual abuse from the St. Mary’s County Department of Social Services involving a minor child.
Investigation by detectives revealed on Aug. 28, a suspect, identified as William Clay Roberts Wilson, 45 of California, engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor child, 8 years-old, who was known to the suspect. Wilson was taken into custody without incident, charged with a fourth-degree sex offense, sexual abuse to a minor and incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
