PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — The Calvert County Government recently noted a phenomenal employee within the Department of Human Resources. On social media, Calvert County Government highlighted Amy Ihde with the following post:

“Meet Human Resources Aide Amy Ihde for the Department of Human Resources.

Amy was hired in August 2020 in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a human resources aide, she performs a wide variety of administrative work. Amy facilitates the process for new hires into a database system that creates a new employee personnel file. This information is used for payroll and benefits for each individual employee.

She also works on monthly reports, the employee training portal and communicates with staff to answer questions and address whatever their needs might be. Amy particularly enjoys helping new employees and shares in their excitement as they start their careers in county government.

“I am part of a terrific team of individuals that provides assistance to every employee for just about every part of their work lives, whether providing a simple change of address form, or connecting them to the right benefits team member to discuss medical benefits, retirement options or any other needs,” said Amy. “I love my job because I love working with people and am passionate about ensuring my peers have everything they need for success.”

Amy was born and raised in Green Bay Wisconsin and is the youngest of 10 children. She graduated from an all-girl private high school and later attended the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

Amy is passionate about anything to do with a beach and shell hunting. You can usually find her outside walking, hiking, bicycling or kayaking. She is active in her community and runs a community neighborhood watch program. She particularly enjoys exploring old cemeteries and reading the interesting epitaphs scrawled on old tombstones.”
