Earlier this morning, as students arrived to school, deputies that were working an assignment at Calvert High School learned that a social media threat was made sometime the night prior.ย
The deputies worked with the school administration to investigate the threat.ย The student was quickly located and isolated.ย A search of the backpack in his possession revealed a realistic looking BB gun.ย This juvenile student was immediately removed from the school and is pending several charges.ย
Sheriff Mike Evans will continue to staff deputies at the schools until further notice.ย Students and parents are encouraged to continue to report anything suspicious.
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office released the following advisory regarding threats of violence at Calvert High School.ย
“The threat at Calvert High School this morning has been investigated and resolved. Deputies will remain at the schools for the remainder of the day.”
The CCSO stated Thursday night, March 22, that the threats were not credible.ย
