Annapolis, MD – The Republican nominee for Senate District 28, John Leonard, has chosen to decline his nomination to the seat. As a result of this decision, Bill Dotson has also decided to reject his nomination to the House of Delegates. The Charles County Republican Central Committee has selected Dotson to replace Leonard on the ballot. A replacement nominee will be selected for the House of Delegates by the Charles County RCC shortly.

No one in Charles County expected Mac Middleton to be defeated in his primary by a progressive whose views do not align with the district.
