At 7:30 a.m. Jan. 1, TFC J. Linger of the Leonardtown barrack observed a vehicle being operated without a working center brake light on Route 5 at Golden Beach in Charlotte Hall.
On contact with the driver, Antonio Washington-Paige Jr., 18, of Mechanicsville, loose pieces of marijuana were observed on the passenger seat. A probable cause search revealed a bag of marijuana in Washington’s pants pocket. A check through MVA indicated that he driving privilege was suspended.
Washington was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia and driving while suspended. He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and held pending a bail review.
