Fifty Five dogs taken from location due to poor living conditions

On December 20, 2013 at approximately 8:15 am the Calvert County Animal Control executed a search warrant at 1205 Lake Ridge Drive, located in Sunderland Calvert County Maryland.

Animal Control served this search warrant during an investigation of animal cruelty.  Fifty Five (55) dogs were taken from this location due to poor living conditions and have been transferred to the Tri-County Animal Shelter.

The Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team assisted in this investigation with air monitoring and hazardous material protective equipment. This was needed due to the confined space that the animals were housed in. 

Crime Scene Technician G. Crump processed the scene. All of the dogs that were taken for a medical evaluation were at the consent of the owner.

Any suspect information will be released pending the conclusion of this case.

Sheriff Evans states:  “Animal Control is the voice for the animal that cannot be heard.  We will investigate this case fully and do what is best for these animals.”
