NEWBURG, Md. – On July 1, 2024, at approximately 8:58 p.m., fire and rescue personnel responded to a golf cart crash on Windermere Lane near Emerald Lane. The caller reported that they had flipped the golf cart, and three people were injured.
Upon arrival, crews found the overturned golf cart with multiple injured occupants who were conscious. EMS evaluated two teenagers and one adult at the scene. A 13-year-old girl, a 16-year-old girl, and a 35-year-old woman were transported to UM Charles Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash. We will provide updates as they become available.
This incident follows a similar crash on June 1, 2024, in St. Mary’s County, which left a 3-year-old and a man injured and required them to be flown out for medical care.
Authorities urge the public to exercise safety precautions when operating a golf cart.
