WALDORF, Md. — The Charles County Children’s Aid Society is once again distributing free school supplies to local students through its annual School Supplies Project, now open to both public school and homeschooled students in Charles County for the 2025 school year.
The program provides book bags filled with essential school supplies to up to 1,500 students from pre-K through 12th grade. For the first time, homeschooled students living in Charles County are eligible to participate.

To receive supplies, families must register and provide documentation showing enrollment in Charles County Public Schools or proof of homeschooling within the county. Registration is required, and while the cut-off date has not yet been announced, registering early is strongly encouraged. Families are urged to call for the most up-to-date information.

You can help, too — the Children’s Aid Society is collecting donations of new school supplies to fill the book bags. Items needed include book bags, pencils, notebooks, crayons, binders, calculators, glue sticks and more (see flyer above for full list). Supplies can be dropped off by appointment.
