HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — Get ready to place your bets and raise your paddles—The Calverton School is rolling out the red carpet for its annual fundraising gala, and this year’s theme is nothing short of legendary. On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the school invites families, friends, alumni and supporters to gather in the Leitch Memorial Gymnasium for the Triple Crown of Calverton, an evening inspired by the glamour and tradition of thoroughbred racing’s finest events.
The race to raise $150,000 kicks off at 6 p.m., and the festivities promise something for everyone: stations with a taste of the races provided by Canards Catering, an open bar, exciting silent and live auctions, and live music from none other than Calverton student-turned-Nashville-star Kaitlyn Croker. Even a VIP reception and meet and greet for top sponsors provided by Calvert Crabs.
“There’s something really special about this year’s event—it’s my very first Calverton auction, and we’re thrilled to be welcoming home Kaitlyn Croker, one of our own, to headline the night,” said Adrienne Forgette, head of school. “We’re also honored to celebrate the incredible legacy of Phil Weiner as he prepares to retire after decades of dedicated service. The energy, the generosity, the sense of community—it’s what makes Calverton so extraordinary. I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone and keep building something amazing together.”
This marquee event celebrates the heart and soul of the school—its students and educators—while providing critical support for its lower, middle and upper schools. “Things are happening at Calverton—things that are only possible through the generosity of our community,” reads the official letter from Beth Prout Lennon, event coordinator. “Calverton is ‘ours’—and that means it belongs to every student, every parent, every neighbor who believes in what education can do.”
Founded in 1967, The Calverton School has long been a cornerstone of educational excellence in Calvert County, preparing students not only for college but for a life of meaningful impact. From future firefighters to doctors, chefs to soldiers, Calverton students are encouraged to dream boldly and serve compassionately.
Guests can support the event in several ways: by becoming a sponsor, donating auction items or services, advertising in the auction catalog, or volunteering their time. Sponsorship levels—ranging from the $100 Faculty & Staff Sponsor to the $7,500 VIP Belmont Stakes Sponsor—come with perks like VIP seating, recognition across digital and print platforms, and even a dedicated server for the night.
