LEONARDTOWN, Md. โ€” A violent altercation that began inside Action Lounge and Billiards early Saturday morning spilled into surrounding areas, with emergency units responding to multiple locations within minutes as shots were fired. Two people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds following the incident.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 2 a.m. to reports of a large fight involving multiple individuals in the parking lot of Action Lounge and Billiards in the 25000 block of Point Lookout Road. According to the sheriff’s office, additional reports of shots being fired came in while deputies were en route.

Simultaneously, emergency medical units were dispatched to a Lawrence Avenue address nearby. According to dispatch, responders were ordered to stage at a nearby fire station rather than proceed directly to the scene.

When deputies arrived at Action Lounge, authorities say they found the crowd dispersing and individuals fleeing the area. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. The sheriff’s office confirmed in a 9:35 a.m. update that the altercation began inside Action Lounge and then spilled into the parking lot where shots were fired.

A short time later, two victims with gunshot wounds arrived at a nearby hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office has not released details about the victims’ identities or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
