Maryland State Fire Marshall’s Southern Regional Office is investigating a two alarm house fire in Indian Head.
Firefighters responded to a fire at 340 Dick Simmons Place in Indian Head on Oct. 1, at 4:50 p.m.
Units arrived on the scene to find a mobile home ingulfed in flames. There were smoke alarms present and operational.
The fire was attributed to improperly discarded smoking material. There were no injuries and it was not determined if the smoking material was compliant with the fire safety performance standard, which wasimplemented in the State of Maryland on July 1.
The estimated damage amount is $15, 000.
