HOLLYWOOD, Md. — St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks announced Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, that the Dorsey Park tennis courts are open for play following completion of renovations.
The project delivered a new asphalt surface, fresh color coating and lines, and updates to the fencing.
Work at Dorsey Park began after the county’s Sept. 5 announcement that construction was underway, with an initial curing period for asphalt followed by a brief closure for final color treatment and striping.
The improvements were funded through a $250,000 capital package approved by county commissioners in June. Of that amount, $225,000 came from Maryland’s Program Open Space, with the county providing the remainder. The package also included upgrades to the basketball courts at Chancellors Run Regional Park.
