
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Men’s Tennis Team (1-3) concluded their final match of the PTR Spring Tennis Fest with a dramatic 5-4 win over Maryville college (0-10).
How It Happened:
Doubles
- Boris Palmade and Nick Rohr defeated their Maryville opponents 8-6 in the first doubles match.
- Keawe Johnson and Daoud Alkhalidi kept the momentum going for the Seahawks with a 8-3 win in the second doubles contest. .
- Andrew Hand and Jack Hohen fell in the number three doubles match by a final score of 8-5.
Singles
- Boris Palmade came out victorious in the number one singles match, winning 6-2 and 7-5.
- Nick Rohr fell in the number two singles match. Rohr dropped the first set 7-5 and the second 6-3.
- Keawe Johnson won both sets in the number three singles match by scores of 7-5 and 6-3.
- Daoud Alkhalidi proved to be the difference for the Seahawks with a victory in the number four singles match. Alkhalidi won 6-4 in the first set and clinched the match via tiebreaker in the second.
- Andrew Hand fell short in the number five singles contest. Hand lost set one 6-0 and set two 6-2.
- Devon Gorel was defeated in both sets of the number six singles match, falling 6-2 in the first set and 6-4 in the second.
