LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — After more than two decades of serving Southern Maryland drivers, Team Hyundai has just opened the doors to a brand-new, 26,000-square-foot dealership that’s turning heads—and they’re inviting the entire community to celebrate during a special grand opening event on Saturday, April 12.
The state-of-the-art building, located on Route 235 in California, is the third home for Team Hyundai since the dealership began selling cars in 2003. The business started on Great Mills Road before moving to its previous location on Route 235 in 2008.
Dealer Principal Peter D’Arista said the new space is designed to meet the needs of a growing customer base.
“We built our new facility to handle the huge increase in service business from customers who bought from us, as well as new customers who moved into the area,” D’Arista said.

The new dealership features a customer-focused layout, including a spacious service waiting area, enclosed new car delivery zone, coffee bar, business center, and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Team Hyundai, along with its sister store Toyota of Southern Maryland, has been locally owned for over 25 years. The dealerships pride themselves on offering a level of personalized service and community commitment that larger chains can’t match. Each year, the dealerships sponsor more than 25 nonprofit organizations and contribute over $50,000 to local charities.

With Hyundai now ranked as the third-largest carmaker in the world and one of the fastest-growing brands in the U.S., the new facility opens at a pivotal moment. The dealership continues to offer popular models like the Elantra and Sonata—two of the few remaining affordable sedans on the market—alongside the Kona, a versatile gas-powered SUV that remains a customer favorite. The lineup also includes a growing selection of hybrid vehicles, such as the Tucson Hybrid, Santa Fe Hybrid, Elantra Hybrid, and Sonata Hybrid.
In light of newly enacted tariffs, Team Hyundai is urging customers to take advantage of Pre-Tariff Pricing (PTP) on all vehicles currently on the lot, including Hyundais and Toyotas, during its grand opening events.
“With the newly enacted tariffs, higher prices will almost certainly be coming for every car brand in America,” D’Arista said. “So please join us for our celebration and biggest sale of the year. Get your new Hyundai or Toyota with PTP while they last!”

The dealership is also highlighting its customer perks through its “Advantage for Life” program, which includes car washes, loaner vehicles, shuttle service, and oil changes. For more information about the events or available inventory, visit Team Hyundai’s website or stop by the new location on Route 235 in Lexington Park, Md.
