At 12:16 am, on March 8, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 4200 block of Drake Court in Waldorf for the report of a stabbing.
Investigation revealed James Edward Wright IV, 15, of Waldorf, stabbed a family member in the shoulder and fled the scene. The victim, who was sleeping when Wright stabbed him, was transported to Civista Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers canvassed the area throughout the night and at 3:23 a.m., Wright was located on Mockingbird Circle in Waldorf.
Officers arrested him and charged him as an adult with attempted first-degree murder. Wright was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
