On April 30th The Baynet and Joie Salon and Spa teamed up for a Locks of Love event. Fifteen people donated hair. Over $150 in cash was raised. Men, women, and children showed up to donate. All came in with long hair and all walked out with short hair and a smile on their face.
Some people chose to donate simply because they were ready for a change. Some donated because they were happy to give to a good cause. A few were growing their hair just to donate. Zeke, a 7 year old boy, had been growing his hair for two years just to donate it.
Amanda Tippett, owner of the salon, gave out goodie bags full of hair products to each person that donated. Coach Russ Cole won the huge product basket for donating the most hair.
The Baynet would like to give a big thank you to the girls at Joie Salon and Spa and all of the wonderful people that came out to donate. The event was a great success. We look forward to doing one every year.
