LA PLATA, Md. — A Waldorf man was arrested Oct. 20, 2025, after police said he refused to leave the emergency room at UM Charles Regional Medical Center and caused a disturbance.
Phillip A. Street, 37, is charged with failure to obey a lawful order, disorderly conduct and trespassing on private property.
According to court documents, officers were called just after midnight and found and found Street yelling at staff in the ER lobby. Hospital security personnel told officers Street is not permitted on the property except for medical emergencies. Police also noted Street had been trespassed from a Wyndham hotel recently.
Police said Street resumed shouting after being told to leave, yelled at motorists and pedestrians outside, and stood in the roadway. After officers cleared, he twice called 911 and later returned to the ER, according to the report.
Street was initially held without bond on Oct. 20 and was released on his own recognizance after a bail review on Oct. 21 before Judge Robert B. Riddle. A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 4 at 1 p.m., with a trial set for Dec. 5 at 9 a.m., both in Charles County District Court.
