Pursuit of Justice: Charles County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Files
LA PLATA, Md. – In February of 1974, officers with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the shores of Trinity Lake near Dubois Road in La Plata where they located the body of a deceased male. The male was later identified as 26-year-old Riverdale resident, George Allen MacDonald.
Investigating officers determined MacDonald had attended a party in Prince George’s County sometime around Halloween of 1973. They believe he may have been involved in a fight at some point during the night.
He was killed at the party, or sometime after it and likely knew the person or people who killed him. No one investigators spoke with reported seeing MacDonald after the party.
Detectives are continuing to investigate his murder and would like to speak with anyone who was at the party he attended or has information about this case.
