VALLEY LEE, Md. – The Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad is getting ready to turn up the heat and then cool everyone down at its third annual Beach Party on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025.

From 3 to 7 p.m., the station grounds at 19330 Piney Point Road will transform into a summertime playground with splash-down water activities, a towering waterslide and a lineup of games for all ages. Families can expect cornhole matches, prize giveaways and music to keep the party energy high.

Admission is free, and while food is cash only, the menu promises classic summer flavors served with a side of small-town hospitality. Organizers say the goal is to celebrate the end of the season with a relaxed, family-focused atmosphere and to raise more than last year’s $3,000 for the department.

The Beach Party is made possible in part by local sponsors, including Cedar Point Federal Credit Union, which returns as the Gold Sponsor for 2025. Funds raised will help support the department’s emergency response operations and community outreach programs.

Event organizers say additional details and possibly a few surprises will be announced as the date gets closer. For now, they recommend marking the calendar, bringing a towel and preparing to say goodbye to summer in true Valley Lee style.
