
CALIFORNIA, Md. — Tia’s Cantina Mexican Kitchen marked its grand opening on Dec. 14, 2024, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted in partnership with the St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce. The event, held at the new restaurant in the Wildewood Shopping Center, celebrated the culinary journey of longtime friends and restaurateurs Jamil Jamaldinian and Mynor Hernandez.
Special events for the day included a variety of promotions and entertainment designed to engage the community. The first 98 guests received $10 coupons, while $9.99 lunch specials were offered throughout the day. Attendees who dined in or ordered to-go had the chance to enter a raffle to win a $100 Tia’s gift card. Happy Hour included giveaways, and local music duo T-Bone & Heather performed live, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Jamaldinian and Hernandez, who have been partners in the restaurant industry since 1998 through their work at the renowned Tia’s Tex-Mex, bring over two decades of culinary expertise to their new venture. Tia’s Cantina is an homage to their shared legacy, blending traditional Mexican flavors with fresh, made-from-scratch ingredients.
The menu at Tia’s Cantina reflects the duo’s commitment to quality and authenticity. Guests can enjoy an array of handcrafted offerings, including salsas, sauces, dressings, dips, meats, savory beans, rice, and soup, all made in-house using the freshest ingredients.

Located at 23415 Three Notch Road, #2060, Tia’s Cantina Mexican Kitchen aims to bring the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine to the California, MD, community while honoring the traditions that have defined Jamaldinian and Hernandez’s careers.
