CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. – Recently, World War II Veterans from the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home were honored with handmade quilts from the local Quilts of Valor Chapter, Faith and Freedom, located in Lusby, MD.
Since 2003, Quilts of Valor has provided quality, handmade quilts that are machine or hand-quilted. According to their website, “It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, ‘Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.'”

“To use the term Quilt of Valor, Quilts of Valor or QOV, the quilt must be a specific size, must have a label with required information, it must be awarded (it is not a gift) and it must be recorded.”

In 2023, the Faith and Freedom chapter presented more than 140 quilts to Veterans in the local area according to the Veterans Home. They plan to return to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in the near future to honor their Korean War Veterans.
